* I liked the dynamic set up between Ralph and Vanellope. Going into Wreck-it-Ralph 2, I wasn't sure what to expect "If that little kid likes me, how bad how can I be?"

I love how the movie turned good guys and bad guys on its head, and how Ralph and Felix both had to learn what it meant to be heroes.Īnd I love Ralph's remarks at the end at Bad Anon. I loved Ralph and how his depression stems from the lack of acceptance and even common courtesy he gets from the people from his game. I love the idea of "going Turbo" and how all the characters are vehemently against the idea. I love how the Arcade has its own unique events that happen in-universe. The arcade characters interacting with each other, and having their own culture. The first Wreck-it-Ralph is my absolute favorite animated movie.

I'm going to post the same comment I did when I first saw the movie, as my feelings are largely the same. The post-credits scenes don't count, by the way.

It's even more depressing knowing that this might be the end of the line for this franchise. The entire film is quite sad, come to think of it. Most depressing ending I've seen from a Disney movie. The movie begins with Ralph and Vanellope sitting together on a bench, and it ends with just Ralph, on that same bench, alone. If anything, this just drives even further the point that she's far away now, and not really, physically there with Ralph anymore. When she's seen again, it's just her hologram from a Skype call type. The rest of the movie is shown from Ralph's point of view only, as if to emphasize Vanellope's absence. It's like in a way, we too got to say goodbye to her after she ascends those stairs, she's gone, for Ralph and for us. From the viewer's perspective, when they're waving at each other goodbye, this is the last time we, the audience, see Vanellope in person. But with all the cons this movie may have, the ending was still something really heavy for me to watch, and it affected me more than I could ever expect from a family-oriented film, even days after I watched it. Quite enjoyed it, though it had a few things I didn't like, and I gotta admit it doesn't have as much replay value as Wreck-It Ralph.
